Raw Vid: York Co Deputy shoots 70 Year Old Man Reaching for Cane

How does a properly trained sheriff's deputy do this? Was he overzealous?  Well i guess I will be more careful when I go to Rock Hill, SC next time. Glad I don't have to use a cane, wait a minute, this guy was a veteran, guess I'm screwed.

  1. Good God. How did that Deputy ever get out on the street with a gun.

Either he knew somebody on the hiring end of the line, or they needed someone to fill a quota.

  2. I know harry. I have seen additional video of him, he was very upset about his mistake in identifying the situation but Damn, you are in a job where you are required to protect and serve the public, this lax in judgment questions his ability to continue serving.

    1. Continue serving?......screw that. He should go on trial for attempted murder, just as the old man would if the situation were reversed.

    2. Agree Matt, I don't think he should still have his badge and but of course it would be a different outcome if the racial roles were switched.

  3. He may have been overly trained, not even Barney would be thinking threat in that situation. We are training police to be like soldiers and they are expecting a fight and find it.

  4. Where's the outrage? If a white deputy had gunned down an old black man, Jesse would be on his way there now, crowds would be demanding the Justice Department (that's a joke) insure prosecution, you couldn't get a hotel room because the press would have booked all the rooms within 100 miles. But this happens and nobody talks about it other than on blogs? Something is out of whack.

    1. Maybe they want to use my rocket stove design.

    2. Yeah, probably the word "rocket" caught their attention!

  6. After thinking about it some more, I'm surprised he didn't use the "Hey, I thought it was Christopher Dorner" defense.

Hey.... why not? it certainly worked for those two idiots in CA who shot up that truck and almost killed those women ..... who looked absolutely nothing like Dorner in a truck that wasn't even the same color as his....
