I'm sorry for the lack of posts, I have started a new job and work 8 hours plus a day 6 of the 7 days in the week. If many of you know, I take all VETERAN matters very serious. I come from a family that has had a long standing duty to defend "Old Glory", myself career Navy, Father was Air Force during entire Korean war conflict, uncle who did three tours in Vietnam with the Corps, and wanted a fourth but they wouldn't let the crazy MF'r go back, another uncle was career Air Force, and another who was Army. Jim, aka, Old NFO and a shipmate, posted on his bog "Nobody asked me" about suicide awareness amongst veterans. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH OUR VETERANS AND IT NEEDS TO STOP!!!! I will re-post an entry I made on my blog September 21st, 2012. I had a young sailor, a close friend, who lived close to me, and hung out with me, he was a nuclear Machinist Mate First Class who was attached to a Ohio Class Ballistic Missile submarine in Kings Bay, Ga. one afternoon, he came back in the community, went in his house, and committed suicide in the early afternoon. I ask all of you, if you know a ANYONE, and I mean ANYONE, VETERAN or NOT, who is going through tough times, acting strange, or showing possible signs, please, IMI, PLEASE INTERVENE IMMEDIATELY!!!
