I really like this gun. I have been looking for a nice 1911 for carry. All the reviews I have read are all good. May go check one out tomorrow. The hell with buying a Kimber or Springfield.
Ha ha ha, if I bought a matching set, i would carry two behind my back. Hey, your collection of 1911 is like carrying a pack of tic tacs around. You have to many.
I think I would rather have a Ruger vice a Kimber. Kimber has had issues with their quality and they are not made like they were years ago. SA is just too much for what you can get with Ruger.
I still carry a Taurus PT-1911 every day; it's capable of 1 1/2" groups at 25 yds without any tweaks. The only thing I added were Crimson Trace grips. Nothing wrong with saving money on a good pistol; the Ruger sounds like a great one.
Rev, I have been looking for a quality 1911 to carry at a good price. I looked at para-ordnance, Taurus, and some of the upper rock islands. I have a compact rock Island 1911 right now but wanted something a bit nicer. I guess it come down to how nice you want. Me, i'm somewhat picky, but cost does play a factor.
Love me some Rugers, and love my 1911s. Had a Ruger SR1911 / .45 in the shop -- GREAT reviews, thing is a tank. Feeds anything. Trigger was decent. Very good price point too. Happy Shooting, Senior ;)
Thanks Mrs. Mom. I'm telling you, i haven't heard anything bad about them, and what i heard was personal preference issues from the reviewers but most said Ruger hit a home run with this gun.
I had a Sig 1911 which I was really impressed with. Stupidly sold it to fund a rarish S&W revolver. Now I need another 1911 and the Ruger is on the short list. Buddy of mine just bought one for )$100 less than I paid for my Sig and won't say a bad word about it. So, come bonus time, a ruger might just follow me home too.
I have been eyeing the Sig's, but Ruger keeps pulling me back in several areas. Glad to hear your buddy has nothing bad to say about them. Just adds more to the decision process.
Ruger makes great firearms no doubt. Ruger revolvers are my favorite. Recently I have buy Ruger .45 colt. I like Information about Ruger SR1911CMD 45 that you have shared.
Ruger - More bang for the buck!
ReplyDeleteAfter reading the reviews, i agree with you.
ReplyDeleteYou should buy a matching set. My birthday is just around the corner.

DeleteActually Stephen. It is my birthday that is right around the corner..I wonder if they have one in pink! lol
DeleteNope, you don't like guns for your birthday or christmas.
DeleteNice gun, some of these 1911 can be expensive.

DeleteThey do have a pretty good rep! Try a couple and pick one with the best trigger... Just sayin...
ReplyDeleteWhile researching, the Ruger has a 3.5 pound trigger pull which I like.
